Ingredients
✅ For the Sushi Rice:
- 2 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
✅ For the Seafood Filling:
- 1 cup imitation crab (or fresh crab, shredded)
- 1 cup cooked salmon (or tuna, flaked)
- ½ cup Japanese mayo (Kewpie recommended)
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust for spice level)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ¼ cup cream cheese (softened)
✅ For the Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon furikake seasoning
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
✅ For Serving:
- Roasted nori sheets
- Sliced cucumbers (optional)
- Avocado slices (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sushi Rice
Cook the short-grain rice according to package instructions.
In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
Fold the vinegar mixture into the rice and let it cool slightly.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Seafood Mixture
In a bowl, combine crab, salmon (or tuna), mayo, Sriracha, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cream cheese.
Stir until well blended and creamy.
Step 3: Assemble the Sushi Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread the sushi rice evenly in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle furikake seasoning over the rice.
Spread the seafood mixture on top, followed by shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Step 4: Bake the Sushi Bake
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese melts and bubbles.
Broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy, golden topping.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and additional furikake.
Serve warm with roasted nori sheets, cucumber slices, or avocado.
