- 1 ½ cups warm water

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, mayonnaise, warm water, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; the batter will be slightly thin.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and enjoy!
Notes
- For a mocha twist, replace half the warm water with brewed coffee.
- Store the cake at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze individual slices for longer storage.
